About
Veritas Classical School is a premier classical Christian school hosting kindergarten through twelfth grade in 2024. The school located in St. Augustine, Florida, currently has two locations. The original location is on State Route 16 housing PreK to 3rd grade. A newly renovated campus in the Lincolnville neighborhood of the city houses students in Upper Grammar, Logic School and Rhetoric School. Faith and robust academics are the foundation of a Veritas education. Student learning is not isolated to the classrooms. Significant learning occurs outside of our classrooms, on the grounds of both campuses, and out in the community through field trips. The school prioritizes typical academics like mathematics and reading, as well as fine arts, music, and physical education. The school’s co-curricular options have proved to be very popular as the activities help round out the student experience whether they are involved in athletics, clubs or private music lessons.
GRAMMAR SCHOOL
Students begin with the Grammar stage of education. Often through memorization, students are challenged with learning the basics of topics. At this stage children can retain vast quantities. Grammar School is kindergarten to 6th grade.
SCHOOL OF LOGIC
As students progress through the 7th and 8th grade, known as the Logic stage, they become naturally argumentative. Using their grammar knowledge, they learn how to debate with respect and dignity.
SCHOOL OF RHETORIC
The Rhetoric stage of classical education includes 9th through 12th grade and focuses on the art of persuasive speech and writing. Students take everything they have learned and, through winsomeness, share learning.
