Karen Schulz was born in Mississippi and grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She and her family have been Florida residents since 2014. She has two adult boys, both in St Augustine and a beautiful granddaughter.
Karen has a bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. She also has a Master’s degree in Reading Education from the University of Virginia and is a certified Reading Specialist and Literacy Coach.
Karen has taught in a variety of settings from a juvenile detention center to elementary schools in Florida and Virginia. She has taught 1st and 4th grades and served as a Reading Specialist and Literacy Coach at the elementary and high school levels.
Karen loves to read and share all things reading with her students and parents alike.
Karen believes God is ever-present in everything we do and this seems especially apparent when shepherding children. She is excited to walk with all her students as they explore together the world that He created.
