Kevin Thames joined Veritas in August 2025. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Moody Bible Institute and his Master’s in Educational Administration from Pensacola Christian College.
Kevin’s career in education began in 1993 teaching music, computer basics, and physical education in summer school programs. After graduating from Moody in 2001, he taught 5th and 6th grades at Oak Park Christian Academy. He then served as Assistant Principal and teacher at Clay Road Baptist School in Houston before becoming Head of School there. He later served as Middle School Principal at Houston’s First Baptist Academy. From 2014 to 2025, Kevin taught and held administrative roles at Classical School of Wichita. Following God’s leading, he and his family have now come to St. Augustine to serve at Veritas.
Kevin is passionate about partnering with parents and encouraging students to reach their full potential. He delights in building up and supporting both students and colleagues.
In his free time, Kevin enjoys playing bagpipes with the City of St. Augustine Pipe Band, restoring vintage fountain pens, fixing things, and spending time with others.
