Peter DellaVecchia joins Veritas after serving as a classroom teacher for close to 17 years. Originally from Mt. Vernon, New York, Mr. DellaVecchia lived most of his life in Palm Coast, Florida. He resides in St. Augustine with his wife and their two children, both of whom attend Veritas. Mr. DellaVecchia earned his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida. Having always been interested in administration, he later returned to Stetson University where he earned his master’s degree in Educational Leadership. During his tenure as a teacher, he has had the opportunity to teach all grades from kindergarten to 12th grade at a variety of different schools as well as online. In addition to an extensive career as an educator, Mr. DellaVecchia has also coached both boys and girls lacrosse at multiple levels and he is a high school and collegiate men’s lacrosse official with over 15 years of experience. Mr. D., as most of his students and athletes call him, is excited about the opportunity to positively impact students through physical education in the Athletics Department. When he is not teaching or officiating, Mr. DellaVecchia enjoys mountain biking and spending time at the beach with his family.
