John Matulia serves as Vice President and Regional Executive with Barwick Banking Company, bringing a diverse background in banking, agriculture, and real estate to his professional career. He began in banking as an agricultural lender within the Farm Credit System before transitioning to commercial banking. Prior to his career in banking, John worked in real estate, specializing in recreational and agricultural land sales as well as commercial properties.
A graduate of Auburn University, John earned his Bachelor of Science degree before completing his Master of Business Administration at Louisiana State University. His career path also includes seven years of professional baseball after being drafted out of high school by the Tampa Bay Rays.
John and his wife, Sara, have two children who both attend Veritas. As a member of the Board of Trustees, John is passionate about supporting the school’s mission and helping foster an environment where students can grow in character, faith, and academic excellence.
Outside of work, John enjoys fishing, golf, and surfing.
