Mr. Heath Martin

A native of Kentucky, Heath attended the University of Louisville and graduated from Western Ky University with a bachelor’s in economics in 1993. Heath started his career in the insurance industry, working as a marketing manager, commercial field underwriter, and eventually as a professional negotiator.

In 2005, Heath changed careers and completed his training as a flight instructor in pursuit of his goal of becoming an airline pilot. He began his professional aviation career flying Saab 340’s for Colgan Air and then moved on to flying Embraer 145’s, Boeing 767’s, and now serves as captain on the Boeing 747 for Atlas Air.

Throughout his career, Heath has volunteered and served at various churches and charities such as the Boy Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, and others. He has been a member and volunteer of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters for nearly 20 years, where he now serves on the Executive Board as Secretary-Treasurer of Local 2750.

When he’s not away from home flying or doing union work, Heath enjoys reading, fishing, astronomy, shooting sports, and playing tennis and chess.
