Brad received his B.A. in Communications from the University of Florida and his M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Wendy reside in St. Augustine, Florida, and have four children. Brad enjoys running marathons, skiing, investing in real estate, entrepreneurship, and traveling around the world with his family (they have visited over 45 countries). Over the past 20 years, he has completed over 50 marathons and two Ironman triathlons.
Brad Layland is the CEO of The FOCUS Group. He joined the firm in 2012 after a 20-year career with Young Life where he was the Chief Development Officer. Since purchasing the firm in 2015, the firm has grown to be 10 times larger serving over 100 Christian Ministries through a team of 30 staff and consultants. Currently, the FOCUS Group is helping over 30 ministries raise over $1 billion dollars. Brad’s expertise includes providing high-level fundraising counsel to nonprofit organizations. In recent years he has led capital campaigns for Intervarsity Christian Fellowship ($81 million), Union Rescue Mission ($83 million), The Bowery Mission ($27 million), and Veritas School in Richmond ($5.3 million).
Brad is also the founder of Endless Summer Realty, the largest residential real estate brokerage in St. Augustine, closing over $250 million in transactions in 2021. He is the founder of an annual “Giving Day” in St. Augustine, which has become a platform for local nonprofits to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars and establish relationships with new donors. His entrepreneurial success has allowed Brad to personally experience the joy of generosity, and gain a special understanding of the mindset of a major donor.
