Elizabeth Dykens spent her formative years in both Jacksonville, Florida and Michigan. From a young age, she was an avid reader, writer, and pianist. As a product of homeschooling and classical education, she experienced firsthand the benefits of an education that stirs curiosity, motivates a love of learning, and integrates God throughout.
In 2022, she graduated from Southeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in secondary English education and a minor in music. During her collegiate years, she taught in multiple high school settings, worked as an editor and writer in Southeastern’s communications department, and was an assistant for an ethics and philosophy professor. Simultaneously, she was researching alternative models of education, which became the subject of her undergraduate thesis. All along, God had been shaping her desires and eventually led her to Veritas. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys collecting plants, drinking coffee, admiring the outdoors, and spending time with her four younger siblings.
